Welcome to Reagan

Welcome to Ronald Reagan High School, home of the Rattlers. At Reagan, we believe a great high school experience prepares students not only for graduation, but for a lifetime of learning, leadership, and opportunity.

Our students are challenged by high academic expectations while having the freedom to explore what excites them. Through rigorous coursework, nationally recognized programs, fine arts, athletics, JROTC, student organizations, and more than 90 clubs, Rattlers can pursue their interests, discover new ones, and build an educational experience that prepares them for their individual goals.

What Makes Reagan Special

Learning for Life, Learning for Leadership

Our vision extends beyond academic achievement. Reagan students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, embrace creativity, and develop the confidence to lead. These skills prepare Rattlers to succeed not only in the classroom, but wherever their path takes them after graduation.

Opportunities to Find Your Place

High school is a time to discover what you're capable of. With nationally recognized programs and more than 90 clubs and organizations, Reagan students have opportunities to pursue interests across academics, athletics, fine arts, JROTC, leadership, service, and more. Whether continuing a lifelong passion or trying something completely new, there is a place for every Rattler to get involved.

A Culture of Achievement

Reagan students are encouraged to set ambitious goals and pursue their personal best. From National Merit Scholars to accomplishments in academics, fine arts, athletics, and student organizations, achievement takes many forms across our campus—and our students are supported as they discover what excellence means for them.

The Reagan Way

Being a Rattler comes with a strong sense of community and school pride. “Strike 'Em Rattlers” is more than a rallying cry heard at games, performances, and throughout the school day; it represents a culture that encourages students to seize opportunities, support one another, and make the most of their time at Reagan.

A Campus Designed for the Rattler Experience

Even the Reagan campus reflects the breadth of the student experience. Dedicated academic, fine arts, athletic, and JROTC spaces allow students to move between different areas of interest throughout their day, while the courtyard and other shared spaces give Rattlers places to connect, recharge, and experience campus life together.

One of Reagan's most distinctive features is built directly into the campus: representations of the solar system's planetary orbits are incorporated into the floors, extending outward from the “sun” near the library and adding another layer of discovery to the learning environment.

Preparing Rattlers for What's Next

At Reagan High School, students don't have to follow a single definition of success. Whether their next step is a university, career, technical training, military service, entrepreneurship, or another opportunity, our goal is to ensure every Rattler leaves prepared to take it on with knowledge, confidence, and purpose.

That's what it means to learn for life and learn for leadership.

The Reagan Way!

Strike ‘Em Rattlers

The phrase you will hear most often as a form of approval, unification, and rallying call is  “Strike `Em Ratters”.  You will hear it in our daily announcements, games, and performances, basically, anywhere Rattlers are present.  This phrase reflects our school’s culture of seizing and maximizing every moment in our lives.

Solar System

Our campus’ foundation, literally, has education built into it.  Our solar system is represented by each planet’s orbit permanently formed into the concrete of our floors.  Flowing outwards from the “sun”, a support column in front of our library, to the farthest reaches of the Rattler Den, our students experience how extensive our solar system is through the spatial relationships between those carved orbits.

Spacious Architecture

Reagan High School was designed to facilitate students' learning and growth.  Our main campus has four main building groups.  The academic, ROTC, athletic, and fine arts buildings represent not just specific concentrations, but offer Rattlers a change in mindset when moving from one class to another.

Open Green Student Environments

Our Reagan Courtyard is a place where students can have lunch with their friends, hang out reading a book, or play games.  Surrounded by trees, open to the sun, and with plenty of places to sit, students can find an enjoyable and peaceful place to experience being a Rattler.

Acceptance of Diversity

At Reagan, we are proud of our diverse student and teacher population.  We see inclusivity and diversity as strengths and opportunities for growth.  Rattlers’ perspectives, attitudes, stories and expectations about the world around us, are broadened by our culture.

National Merit Scholars

Through the discipline of our students and the dedication of the Reagan faculty, Reagan is proud to consistently produce National Merit Scholars.  Our Rattler National Merit Scholars will carry this accomplishment with them throughout college life and beyond.

PTA

We believe in strong parent involvement with our school.  With 100% teacher membership, we are a true partnership between Parents and Teachers life.

Our Cluster

Welcome to the Reagan Cluster in the North East Independent School District. As a Reagan High School School student, your child will establish a passion, curiosity, and foundation for life-long learning while nurturing their social and emotional skills. Outside of the classroom, your child can embrace what they love or try something new through diverse clubs, programs and organizations.

Your child will discover even more opportunities at Lopez and Bush Middle School. As their academic foundation expands in the classroom, their circle of friends and experiences will grow through new opportunities in Athletics, Fine Arts, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, competitive UIL contests, and more.

At Reagan High School, your child will excel academically and socially while embracing beloved Rattler traditions with memories that will last a lifetime. Your child has the freedom and support to pursue their passions in a variety of nationally recognized programs, organizations, and clubs – from Athletics to JROTC, Band, Dance, PALS, Photography, UIL, and much more.
